 Case Studies Overview

Baylor College of Medicine Microarray Core Facility

Baylor College of Medicine's Microarray Core Facility, which performs experiment services for a variety of researchers, uses EE-LIMS to automate their lab and streamline laboratory processes. EE-LIMS creates a centralized database for MCF administrators to bring together information from multiple systems. The solution tracks every lab procedure with the use of bar code IDs. MCF has experienced improved service delivery and reduced administrative tasks for core staff.

Baylor College of Medicine Tissue Culture Core Lab

The Tissue Culture Core Lab uses EE-LIMS to handle requests, sample tracking, and billing more efficiently and accurately. The system creates a complete infrastructure for core laboratory operations via a web-based system. Lab Personnel can make requests and track samples at every stage through the internet. Automation greatly reduces the workload on Baylor's laboratory staff and ensures data entry and billing errors are reduced.

Baylor College of Medicine Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology

Baylor College of Medicine's Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology upgraded their paper-based system using EE-LIMS to automate workflow. Everything from research requests, to data entry and analysis, to billing is completed via the integrated system. EE-LIMS allows researchers to enter data and comments into Personal Digital Assistants (PDA), as procedures are executed, for analysis, audit trails, and billing. EE-LIMS improves availability of Core Lab services and increases lab productivity.

MD Anderson Cancer Center Microarray Core Facility

The Microarray Core Facility uses EE-LIMS to improve data accuracy, decrease administrative work and run the laboratory more smoothly. EE-LIMS upgraded the existing processes to a fully automated Laboratory Request Management System. The solution gives researchers the ability to easily query, analyze and manage massive amounts of critical data from the initial submittal all the way through to discovery. The system eliminated work associated with paper-based systems and allows researchers more time to do research.

Weill Medical College of Cornell University

The Weill Medical College of Cornell University automates transactions within five of their twenty core facilities - Microarray, Mass Spectrometry, Optical Microscopy, Electron Microscopy, and Transgenic Mouse with the use of EE-LIMS software integration system. EE-LIMS can be configured to meet the specific needs and functions within any research facility. EE-LIMS streamlines workflow for online requests and billing, increasing overall operational efficiency, resulting in more time and capital for research and equipment.

Precision Biomarker Resources

Precision Biomarker Resources, a contract research organization serving the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, will automate its operating processes including study and research project data using Stone bond's EE-LIMS. EE-LIMS will be used for order tracking and data management of full service Affymetrix™ GeneChip processing and data analysis services. Sample data is integrated into the Affymetrix™ GeneChip Operating System (GCOS) so that DAT, CEL, CHP and RPT output files are automatically delivered to either the data analysis team or directly to the client. Stone Bond's ground-breaking LIMS integration system will reduce the amount of time spent on administrative tasks, allowing the staff more time to work with clients and process their samples.

 Customer Quotes
  • Microarray Core Facility

"Our goal was to automate the lab with no disruptions to our business activities. We started to realize the value of our investment immediately. It streamlined and improved our processes, elevating the accuracy level of data flow, and simplifying grant applications with the immediate availability of data. We actually have less people working at the lab now, and the new system lets us do more with less people."

Lisa White, Ph.D., Director of Microarray Core Facility, Baylor College of Medicine

  • Baylor College of Medicine

"We needed for our Core Lab services to be more readily available to all of our researchers and to make the status and information easily accessible to anyone with proper security. With all of our statistics available electronically, our research monitoring, evaluations, and analyses could then be more comprehensive, accurate and timely."

Martin P. Weick, Administrator of the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Baylor College of Medicine

  • DermSurgery

"As data moves through different systems, we are now certain that it will maintain its original integrity. This gives researchers the confidence to use multiple points of reference when doing scientific research."

Leonard H. Goldberg, M.D., F.R.C.P., world-renowned dermatologic surgeon at DermSurgery Associates

  • MD Anderson Cancer Center Microarray Core Facility

"Our goal is to improve the timeliness and accuracy of both technical and administrative data in the lab. Achieving these goals is a challenge because any solution to this problem must integrate many different scientific and administrative computer applications and must do so at an affordable cost."

Dr. Mini Kapoor, Assistant Professor and Microarray Core Facility Manager, MD Anderson Cancer Center

  • Tissue Culture Core Lab

"We needed our Tissue Culture Core Lab services to be more efficient as they handle the requests for cells and related materials. Stone Bond’s EE-LIMS gives us a more reliable process and has resulted in almost 100 percent collection on requests between labs."

Martin P. Weick, Administrator of the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Baylor College of Medicine

  • DermSurgery

"Stone Bond has made our life much easier so we can give more attention to our patients."

    Linda Taibel
